Video: Caminos al Futuro Scholars Visit DC

Each summer, high school students who demonstrate a commitment to learning and leadership—particularly within the Latino community—come to GW for a cross-disciplinary educational experience that includes engagement in service-learning activities, on-site visits to D.C.’s centers of power and interaction with community and national leaders.

These students are part of the Caminos al Futuro pre-college summer program, a three-week residential scholarship program designed to help cultivate leadership potential and community service within the Latino community. Caminos al Futuro is funded through donor support and part of the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute in GW’s Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. The GW Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute was established in 2015 through a multimillion-dollar gift from alumnus Gilbert Cisneros and his wife, Jacki, to cultivate diversity in learning and foster leadership opportunities.
